Bosnia and Herzegovina in the eyes of the Czech society since the middle of 19.th century till the beginning of the 20.th century

Abstract:

Práce se zabývá pohledem české společnosti na Bosnu a Hercegovinu v období od poloviny 19. do počátku 20. století. Je chronologicky vystavěna od prvních výraznějších kontaktů v 50. – 60. letech, kdy se česká společnost seznamovala s prostřením Bosny a Hercegoviny a utvářela si o ní počáteční mlhavé představy, přes období tzv. Velké východní krize, násilnou okupaci rakousko–uherskými vojsky až po 90. léta, počátek 20. století a turistický zájem o tuto jihovýchodní provincii habsburské monarchie. V práci je kladen důraz na rozdílné vnímání a prezentaci tohoto prostoru u odlišných společenských skupin české společnosti na základě dobového tisku.

Abstract:

The work is concerned with the view of the Czech society to Bosnia and Herzegovina in the period since the middle of 19th century to the beginning of the 20th century. It is chronologicaly composed from first expressive contacts in 50.th-60th of 19th century, when the Czech society was making acquaintance with the environment of Bosnia and Herzegovina and was making the first misty imaginings through the period of so called Great Eastern Crisis, violent occupation with Austria-hungarian militions till the 90th and turistic interest for this south-east provincy of the Habsburg Monarchy. This work place emphasis on varios senzation and presentation of this space within various social groups of the Czech society on the basis of contemporary printigs
