Causes of poverty in the Slaný region

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se věnuje analýze fenoménu chudoby a identifikaci příčin chudoby v regionu Slaný. Při identifikaci příčin chudoby bylo nejprve nutné definovat pojem chudoby a související pojmy, základní teoretické koncepty chudoby, příčiny a důsledky chudoby. Součástí bakalářské práce je praktický výzkum. Výzkum byl proveden kombinovanou výzkumnou strategií – kvantitativní metodou (formou dotazníkového šetření s lidmi v chudobě) a kvalitativní metodou (formou rozhovorů s experty). Ze zjištěných výsledků byla identifikována hlavní příčina vzniku chudoby v daném regionu, a tou je nezaměstnanost a následně nedostatečné vzdělání a nízká kvalifikace chudých. Dosažené výsledky z výzkumné části mohou být následně podnětem k obsáhlejším výzkumům a rovněž podnětem pro přijetí potřebných opatření v boji s chudobou.

Abstract:

This bachelor degree thesis is engaged in analysis of the phenomenon of poverty identifying the causes of poverty in the region Slaný. This thesis is divided into two parts – the theoretical one and the research. At the beginning, it was necessary to define the concept of poverty and connected concepts as the basic theoretical concepts, the causes and consequences of poverty. The main part of thesis is research. The research was executed by quantitative method (questionnaire research with people in the poverty) and qualitative technique (interview with experts). This research identify the main causes of poverty in the region Slaný – the unemployment and subsequent causes of poverty are insufficient education and low qualification. Results acquiring from the research could be stimulus for others comprehensive research and also stimulus for receiving the necessary precautions in the struggle with the poverty.
