Diplomová práca sa zaoberá vývojom financovania Európskeho spoločenstva. Prvá kapitola definuje teoretické východiská. V podkapitolách bližšie približuje problematiku spoločného rozpočtu Európskej únie, jeho štruktúru, zásady, príjmy a výdaje.
