Hotel analysis of the baby and family friendliness in the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zaměřuje na analýzu ubytovacích zařízení, která se prezentují jako Baby Friendly, tedy přátelské k dětem a rodinám. První část práce se zaměřuje na význam a vývoj cestovního ruchu a sociálního cestovního ruchu, a to jak ve světě, tak i v České republice. Na tuto kapitolu navazuje stručná charakteristika znevýhodněných skupin cestovního ruchu a prezentace programů Calypso a Národní program podpory cestovního ruchu. V analytické části jsou uvedeny základní statistické údaje o ubytovacích zařízeních v České republice a podrobná definice pojmu Baby Friendly. Nejobsáhlejší kapitolou je představení konkrétních Baby Friendly ubytovacích zařízení a jejich rozdělení podle krajů České republiky. Následuje jejich srovnání a vyhodnocení. V další části této diplomové práce je stručný popis internetových portálů, které se zaměřují na prezentaci Baby Friendly ubytovacích zařízení. Nechybí ani pohled na tuto problematiku ze strany zákazníka, který je vyhodnocen na základě dotazníkového šetření. Poslední kapitolou této části práce je řízený rozhovor s panem Ing. Martinem Heřmánkem – Event a Marketing Managerem hotelu Purkmistr, který obohatí tuto práci o konkrétní příklady z praxe i jeho odborný názor.

Abstract:

This thesis is an analysis of accommodation facilities representing themselves as baby friendly, thus with no barriers for families with small children. First part of this study describes historical development of tourism as well as social tourism in the world and the Czech Republic. This chapter is followed by a succinct characteristics of disadvantaged groups in tourism and presentation of Calypso and National Tourism Support Program. Fundamental statistics of accommodation facilities in the Czech Republic and the detailed definition of “Baby Friendly” terminology are introduced in the analytical part of this thesis. The most comprehensive chapter describes specific Baby Friendly accommodations and their differentiation based on regions in the Czech Republic, which if followed by their evaluation. Later chapter introduces succinct list of internet portals focusing on presentation of Baby Friendly accommodations. Last but not least is a view of end customer which is done by questionnaires distribution among targeted test group. Last chapter in this part of the thesis is structured interview with Ing. Martin Hermanek an Event and Marketing Manager of Hotel Purkmistr, which enriches this study by specific examples from reality as well as by giving his professional opinion on the matter.
