Romani pupil in the centre of a pedagogists's view

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá romskou problematikou, zejména romským vzděláváním. Teoretickou část tvoří dvě kapitoly. První představuje Romy a jejich historii s důrazem na jejich současné vyloučení, dále způsob jejich života, hodnotovou orientaci a romskou identitu. Kapitola druhá se zabývá strukturou romské vzdělanosti a hodnotí úspěšnost legislativních nástrojů školské politiky státu a nástrojů podzákonné normotvorby. Empirická část práce zjišťuje prostřednictvím kvalitativního výzkumu názory pedagogů na romské etnikum, na romské základní vzdělávání a na jejich vlastní kompetence pro edukaci Romů. Tento výzkum obohacuje doplňkové kvantitativní šetření ověřující na souboru pedagogů tří znojemských základních škol totožná témata v zúženém pojetí.

Abstract:

This thesis is concerned with Romani issues, especially Romani education. Theoretical part consists of two chapters. The first one introduces the Roma people and their history focusing on their current social exclusion; further also their way of life, their value system and Romani identity. The second chapter covers the structure of Romani scholarship and evaluates the success rate of state schooling policies of both legislative and lower level law. Using qualitative research the empiric part of this thesis gauges the opinions of teachers on the Romani ethnic group, their elementary education and their own competence for Romani education. This research is further enhanced by supplementary quantitative analysis of the same topics on the teaching staff of three elementary schools in the city of Znojmo.
