Social networks and their role in social work

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zaměřuje na roli sociálních sítí v kontextu sociální práce, kde přinášejí jak nové možnosti pro podporu klientů, tak i specifické výzvy. Cílem je analyzovat, jak mohou sociální sítě podporovat komunikaci a vztahy mezi sociálními pracovníky a jejich klienty, a jaké etické dilema může jejich používání přinést. Na základě kvalitativního výzkumu a rozhovorů s odborníky zkoumáme přínosy a rizika spojená se zapojením sociálních sítí do sociální práce. Výsledky ukazují, že sociální sítě nabízejí cenný nástroj pro lepší propojení a podporu klientů, avšak vyžadují pečlivou etickou reflexi a nastavení profesionálních hranic. Práce nabízí doporučení pro integraci sociálních sítí do praxe sociální práce a zdůrazňuje potřebu dalšího výzkumu a vzdělávání v této dynamicky se vyvíjející oblasti.

Abstract:

This thesis focuses on the social role of social networks at work, where they bring both new opportunities for client support and specific challenges. The goal is to analyze how social networks can support communication and relationships between social workers and their clients, and what ethical dilemmas their use can bring. Based on qualitative research and interviews with experts, we examine the benefits and risks associated with the involvement of social networks in social work. The results show that social networks offer a valuable tool for better connecting and supporting clients, but require careful ethical reflection and the setting of professional boundaries. The thesis offers recommendations for the integration of social networks into social work practice and the need for further research and education in this dynamically developing field.
