Zajištění energií v podnikání a jeho dopady na plánování podniku

Abstract:

tato diplomová práce zkoumá význam energetického zajištění a jeho dopady na podnikové plánování. Cílem studie je identifikovat nejúčinnější strategie pro zajištění cen zemního plynu na českém trhu, přičemž se zkoumají různé finanční nástroje, jako jsou futures, swapy, forwardy a opce. Prostřednictvím rozsáhlého přehledu literatury a empirické analýzy se řeší tři hlavní výzkumné otázky: výhody energetického zajištění se standardizovanými deriváty ve srovnání se standardními smluvními dohodami, dopad margin callů na plánování peněžních toků a vliv margin callů na úrokové náklady. Výzkum využívá historická data a modely k testování hypotéz, přičemž odhaluje, že dlouhodobé futures kontrakty konzistentně překonávají fixní kontrakty s dodavateli. Zjištění naznačují, že přijetí účinných strategií zajištění může výrazně zlepšit stabilitu podnikání a finanční výkonnost tím, že zmírní cenová rizika a zlepší řízení peněžních toků.

Abstract:

This Master's thesis explores the importance of energy hedging and its implications for business planning. The study aims to identify the most effective strategies for hedging natural gas prices in the Czech market, examining various financial instruments such as futures, swaps, forwards, and options. Through an extensive literature review and empirical analysis, three primary research questions are addressed: the benefits of energy hedging with standardized derivatives compared to standard contractual agreements, the impact of margin calls on cash flow planning, and the influence of margin calls on interest expenses. The research utilizes historical data and models to test hypotheses, revealing that long-term futures contracts consistently outperform fixed-price contracts. The findings suggest that adopting effective hedging strategies can significantly enhance business stability and financial performance by mitigating price risks and improving cash flow management.
