The connection between the way of family upbringing, the family environment and the child's level of creativity

Abstract:

Tato magisterská diplomová práce se zabývá souvislostí mezi způsobem výchovy v rodině, rodinným prostředím a mírou tvořivosti dětí ve věku osmi let. Cílem práce je nalézt ve výchově rodičů takové prvky, které mohou souviset s vysokou či nízkou mírou tvořivosti dětí. Zároveň je cílem zmapovat charakteristiky rodinného prostředí, které mohou rovněž ovlivňovat kreativitu dítěte. V teoretické části práce jsou vysvětleny základní koncepty pro tuto práci, kterými jsou tvořivost a výchova. Jsou popsány složky, aspekty a důsledky tvořivosti a také její vývoj a dále faktory, které ji ovlivňují. V kapitole o výchově jsou představeny jednotlivé výchovné styly rodičů a jejich vliv na tvořivost, který zkoumaly předchozí studie. V empirické části je popsána metodologie výzkumu. Následuje interpretace dat získaných z Urbanova figurálního testu tvořivého myšlení, Dotazníku stylů výchovy pro děti od 8 do 12 let, pozorování dětí a polostrukturovaných rozhovorů s matkami dětí. Výsledky jsou poté na konci práce shrnuty a diskutovány.

Abstract:

This master thesis deals with the connection between the way of family upbringing, the family environment and the level of creativity of children aged eight years. The aim of the thesis is to find such elements in the upbringing of parents that may be related to the high or low level of children’s creativity. As well, the aim is to map the characteristics of the family environment, which can also affect children's creativity. The theoretical part of the thesis explains the basic concepts for this thesis, which are creativity and upbringing. The components, aspects and consequences of creativity are described, as well as its development and the factors that influence it. The chapter on upbringing presents the particular parenting styles and their affect on creativity, which has been examined in previous studies. The empirical part describes the methodology that relates to the research on this thesis. The following is an interpretation of data obtained from Urban's Figural Test of Creative Thinking, the Pyrenting Styles Questionnaire for Children Aged 8 to 12, child observation, and semi-structured interviews with children's mothers. The results are summarized and discussed at the end of the thesis.
