The motivation of clients of drug services using case management

Abstract:

Diplomová práce „Motivace klientů drogových služeb při využití case managementu“ se zabývá případy konkrétních uživatelů návykových látek. Všichni tito uživatelé mají za sebou několik neúspěšných pokusů o změnu svého životního stylu vedoucího k abstinenci. Nyní jsou v péči neziskové organizace a je s nimi pracováno metodou case management. Tuto metodu a vybudování vztahu s klíčovým pracovníkem považujeme jako důležitý motivační aspekt pro udržení trvalé abstinence. V teoretické části představujeme aspekty, které jsou spojeny s užíváním návykových látek. Vymezujeme závislost a samotnou osobnost uživatele drog, zabýváme se komplexním zmapováním vzniku závislosti a obecně motivací. Popisujeme neziskovou organizaci, ze které respondenti pocházejí a zmiňovanou metodu, kterou je s nimi pracováno. Praktickou část tvoří kvalitativní případová studie, pomocí které analyzujeme a prezentujeme konkrétní případy klientů. Cílem práce je blíže popsat motivy, které vedou konkrétní uživatele drog ke změně jejich dosavadního životního stylu a blíže těmto lidem porozumět. Konkrétní výstupy práce a odpovědi na výzkumné otázky jsou shrnuty v diskuzi a závěru práce.

Abstract:

Diploma thesis "The motivation of clients of drug services using case management" deals with specific cases of drug users. All of these users have had several unsuccessful attempts to change their lifestyle leading to abstinence. They are now in the care of non-profit organization and they are worked upon by case management. This method of building a relationship with a key worker we consider as an important motivational aspect for maintaining continuous abstinence. In the present theoretical aspects associated with the use of addictive substances. We define the personality of addiction and drug users, we are dealing with a complex mapping of addiction and general motivation. We describe a non-profit organization from which respondents came from and mentioned the method by which to them is working. The practical part is a qualitative case study with which analyze specific cases and present clients. The aim is to further describe the motives that lead a particular drug users to change their current lifestyle and closer to these people understand. Specific outputs of the work and answers to research questions are summarized in the discussion and conclusion.
