Abstract:

Sociální podnikatelé jsou inovátoři, kteří se snaží využít svojí firmu k vytvoření vzájemného prospěchu společnosti přes sociální podnikání se zaměřením na sociální potřeby. Cílem této studie bylo zjistit, jak demografické a další faktory ovlivňují motivaci studenta založit sociální podnik. Údaje byly shrnuty z webového průzkumu, kterého se zúčastnilo 149 vysokoškolských studentů z České republiky a Malajsie. Pět hypotéz bylo vyhodnoceno korelační analýzou, t-testem, ANOVOU a regresní analýzou s cílem posoudit vztahy mezi závislými a nezávislými proměnnými. Výsledky ukazují, že země a postoje k sociální odpovědnosti podniků úzce souvisí s podnikatelskou motivací. Kromě toho, základní potřeba uspokojení byla pozitivní, ale s relativně nízkou korelací, přičemž nebyly zjištěny žádné významné rozdíly mezi pohlavími. Nezávislé proměnné vysvětlily téměř 30% rozptylu v motivaci studentů, aby se stali sociálními podnikateli. Implikace pro další výzkum a vývoj iniciativ sociálního podnikání jsou diskutovány.

Abstract:

Social entrepreneurs are innovators that seek to benefit their society by establishing a sustainable social enterprise that address social needs. The aim of the present study was to investigate how demographic and individual factors might influence student's motivations to launch a social enterprise. Data were compiled from a web-survey and 149 university students from the Czech Republic and Malaysia informed our research. Five specific hypotheses were evaluated by correlational analysis, t-test, ANOVA and regression analysis in order to examine the relations between the dependent and independent variables. The results indicate that university and attitudes towards CSR are strongly related to social entrepreneurial motivation. Furthermore, basic need satisfaction had a positive, but modest correlation, while no significant differences between genders were found. Altogether the independent variables explained nearly 30% of the variance in student motivation to become social entrepreneurs. Implications for further research and development of social entrepreneurship initiatives are discussed.
