Práce se zabývá problematikou porozvodové péče o dítě, svěřování dětí do péče, buď výhradní, společné nebo střídavé. Práce popisuje význam rodiny, manželství, rodičovství, následně rozebírá rozvod, ve stěžejní kapitole podrobně popisuje průběh rozvodu, rozhodnutí soudu o péči, typy péčí, úpravu styku rodiče s dítětem.
