Financial Crisis in Hungary and Its Solution by State in 2009

Abstract:

The purpose of this thesis was to examine the Hungarian crisis management. Firstly, the study made an attempt to investigate the situation of Hungary at the time of the outbreak of the Global Economic Crisis. Another aim was to outline the methods of the Bajnai Government applied to handle Hungary’s situation. Finally, a survey, set in the Eastern European context, was carried out to find out the results of the Bajnai Government actions, that is to say, a comparison was made between Hungary and the other countries of the area. All in all, the principal conclusion was that, despite the fact that Hungary was in the least prosperous macroeconomic situation among the countries of the area, due to its high national and foreign debts and a double digit budget deficit, at the at the outbreak of Global Financial Crisis of 2009, the country eventually managed to gain its economic stabilization.

Abstract:

Vo svojej práci analyzujem maďarské krízové riadenie. K tomu sa najprv pokúsim opísať stav situácie Maďarska v čase vypuknutia svetovej hospodárskej krízy, následne objasním snahy Bajnaiho vlády o riadenie tejto krízy, nakoniec uvediem prehľad dosiahnutých výsledkov. To všetko vložím do východoeurópskeho kontextu, t.j. porovnám Maďarsko s ostatnými krajinami danej oblasti. Zhrnúc do jednej vety najdôležitejšie zistenia môžem konštatovať, že spomedzi krajín regiónu bolo Maďarsko v čase vypuknutia svetovej finančnej krízy v roku 2009 v najnepriaznivejšej makroekonomickej situácii, predovšetkým kvôli vysokému štátnemu dlhu, dvojcifernému rozpočtovému deficitu a vysokej miery zahraničnej zadlženosti, ale napriek týmto negatívam sa vláde podarilo úspešne stabilizovať ekonomiku.
