Differences and Barriers in Functioning of the Czech National Geoparks

Abstract:

Předmětem diplomové práce „Rozdíly a fungování českých národních geoparků“ je komparace a analýza fungování jednotlivých českých národních geoparků. První část práce je zaměřena na vysvětlení základní terminologie nutné k pochopení daného tématu. Dále se autorka věnuje pozitivním a negativním dopadům geoturismu jakožto specifické formy cestovního ruchu. Následuje popis fungování, vznikání a hierarchie různých stupňů geoparků. V závěru teoretické části práce jsou zmíněna další východiska potřebná k porozumění celé problematice fungování geoparků v České republice. Praktická část práce se pak zabývá komparací fungování jednotlivých českých národních geoparků a následně jsou shrnuty bariéry jejich fungování. V závěru práce jsou nastíněna doporučení pro efektivnější fungování českých národních geoparků.

Abstract:

The subject of the diploma thesis "Differences and Barriers in Functioning of the Czech National Geoparks" is an analysis and a comparison of the functioning of all Czech national geoparks. The first part of the thesis is focused on explanation of the basic terminology which is necessary to understand the topic. Further, the author focuses on the positive and negative impacts of geotourism as a specific form of tourism. This part is followed by a description of the functioning, origination and hierarchy of different geopark levels. At the end of the theoretical part of the thesis, other points of reference are mentioned to enable the reader to understand the whole issue of the functioning of the geoparks in the Czech Republic. The practical part of the thesis deals with the comparison of the functioning of all individual Czech national geoparks and the barriers to their functioning are then summarised. At the end of the thesis some recommendations are outlined to help Czech national geoparks to perform more effectively.
