V první části práce se věnuji teorii bolesti, etice a komunikaci při léčbě bolesti a zvláštnostem při hodnocení a léčbě bolesti u seniorů.Ve druhé části práce kvantitativnímu šetření monitorování bolesti, používání farmakologických a nefarmakologických postupů při léčbě bolesti a názoru sester na podávání opiátů seniorům, přičemž zkoumaný vzorek sester byl rozdělen do dvou kategorií, chirurgické a interní obory. Výsledky diplomové práce budou použity ke zlepšení managementu bolesti ve FN Brno.

Number of pages: 101 Number of attachments: 2 Year of the oral defence: 2012 Keywords: pain, opioids, pharmacological treatment, non- pharmacological treatment, quantitative assessment of pain This thesis assesses the awareness of nurses and medical assistants of pain monitoring, use of non-pharmacological methods of pain treatment, and pain treatment with opioids in the elderly. The first part is devoted to the theory of pain, the ethics and communication strategies in the treatment of pain, and the peculiar characteristics of assessing and treating pain in the elderly. The second part deals with the methods for the quantitative assessment of pain, the use non-pharmacological and pharmacological methods of pain treatment, and the nurses’ views on administering opioids in the elderly. The survey group of nurses was divided into two categories – internal medicine and surgical. The results of the thesis will be used to improve pain management at Brno University Hospital.
