Evaluation of investments from company perspective

Abstract:

Cílem této diplomové práce je zhodnotit efektivnost investičního záměru a vymezit jeho přínos pro společnost XYZ, s. r. o., která podniká v oblasti automobilového průmyslu. Smyslem investice je rozšíření stávající výrobní haly a nákup nových strojních zařízení. V první části práce autor definuje investice, způsoby jejich financování, popisuje metody hodnocení investic a zabývá se investičními riziky. V praktické části aplikuje získané teoretické poznatky na konkrétní investiční záměr. Autor hodnotí efektivnost investice prostřednictvím statických a dynamických metod, nejdůležitějšími z nich jsou čistá současná hodnota, vnitřní výnosové procento, index rentability a doba návratnosti. Výsledkem je rozhodnutí o přijetí či zamítnutí dané investice včetně komentářů a analýzy rizika.

Abstract:

The aim of this thesis is to evaluate the effectiveness of the investment project and to define its benefits for the company XYZ, s. r. o., which operates in the automotive industry. The purpose of the investment is to extend production facilities and purchase new machinery. In the first part of the thesis author defines investments, ways of their financing, describes methods of investment evaluation and investment risks. In the second, practical, part of the thesis author applies acquired theoretical knowledge to a specific investment project. The author evaluates the efficiency of the investment through static and dynamic methods, the most important of which are net present value, profitability index, internal rate of return and payback period. The result is a decision to accept or reject particular investment, including comments and risk analysis.
