Non-verbal Communication in Hospitality

Abstract:

Tématem bakalářské práce je Neverbální komunikace v hotelnictví. V teoretické části jsou shrnuty obecné informace o komunikaci, komunikačních kanálech, verbální a neverbální komunikaci. Podrobněji je řešena otázka neverbální komunikace včetně jejího dělení, rozdílností v jednotlivých kulturách a mezi pohlavím. Analytická část popisuje konkrétní příklady řeči těla, mimiky a gest, které často lidé používají během komunikace. Dále se zabývá analýzou neverbální komunikace v hotelnictví, která je doložena dotazníkovým průzkumem a osobním pozorováním ve vybraných hotelech. Na základě kvantitativního výzkumu je vyhodnocena hypotéza a následně jsou navržena opatření pro úspěšnou komunikaci s hosty. Cílem bakalářská práce je prozkoumat, jak neverbální komunikační prostředky ovlivňují komunikaci s klienty v hotelové praxi.

Abstract:

The topic of this bachelor thesis is Nonverbal communication in the hotel industry. In the theoretical part some general information about communication, communication channels, verbal and nonverbal communication are summarized. The question of nonverbal communication is discussed into details, including the division of the nonverbal communication, its differences in individual cultures and between genders. The analytical part describes concrete examples of body language, facial expressions and gestures that people use very often during the communication. Furthermore it deals with the analysis of nonverbal communication in the hotel industry which is supported with a questionnaire survey and personal observation in selected hotels. On the basis of quantitative research the hypothesis is evaluated and subsequently arrangements for a successful communication with guests are suggested. The goal of this bachelor thesis is to examine how the nonverbal communication means affect the communication with clients in a hotel praxis.
