Self-sufficiency through the eyes of seniors using personal assistance service

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá interpretací vlastní soběstačnosti očima klientů osobní asistence. Teoretická část práce je zaměřena na charakteristiku stárnutí a stáří, problematiku stárnoucí populace, a dále se v dané části práce pojednává o soběstačnosti seniorů a službách, které lidem se sníženou soběstačností pomáhají. Empirická část bakalářské práce je věnována výzkumnému šetření. V dané části jsou interpretovány výsledky analýzy rozhovorů, které odpovídají na předem stanovené výzkumné otázky. Cílem výzkumného šetření bylo zjistit, jak senioři, kteří využívají služby osobní asistence, interpretují svoji fyzickou a sociální soběstačnost, a co od osobních asistentů očekávají.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with the interpretation of self-sufficiency through the eyes of clients using personal assistance service. The theoretical part of the thesis is focused on characteristics of ageing and old age itself, problems of the ageing society, self-sufficiency, and services which help people with reduced self-sufficiency. The empirical part of the bachelor’s thesis investigates the analyses of interviews with predetermined questions. The goal of the research is to find out, how seniors using personal assistance service, interpret their own physical and social self-sufficiency and what do they expect from their personal assistants.
