Abstract:

Emoce jsou součástí našeho každodenního života, nicméně slova vždy nemusí stačit k popsání tak komplexního vnitřního stavu. Z tohoto důvodu poskytuje umění možnost vyjádřit své emoce skrze různá média, včetně generativního umění. V této práci je popsáno spojení mezi psychologií a uměním, společně s návrhem aplikace, která tyto dva obory spojuje. Tato práce představuje aplikaci AZU, která umožňuje uživatelům vyjadřování emocí pomocí tvorby mozaik, které připomínají portugalské kachličky azulejos. Po vytvoření mozaiky jsou emoce vyhodnoceny pomocí standardizované emoční škály a výsledky jsou společně s mozaikou uloženy v databázi, která může sloužit jako sada dat pro učení umělé inteligence. Výsledky z uživatelské studie naznačují, že azulejos mohou být použity pro reprezentaci emocí a účastníci byli celkově spokojeni s použitelností vytvořené aplikace.

Abstract:

Emotions are part of everyone’s daily life; however, words may be insufficient for capturing such complex inner states. For this reason, art provides options to express emotions through various media, including generative art. In this work, the connection between art and psychology is described, as well as the design of the application that connects these two fields. This thesis presents the AZU application, designed to allow users to express their emotions using mosaics resembling Portuguese tiles azulejos. After the creation of a mosaic, the emotions are evaluated using a standardized emotional scale, and the results with the mosaic are saved to the database, which can serve as a base for the dataset for AI learning. Results from the user study indicate that azulejos can be used for the representation of emotions, and the participants were overall satisfied with the usability of the created application.
