Legal Aspects of the Membership of the European Union in International Organizations

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá vztahem Evropské unie k ostatním mezinárodním organizacím z hlediska vnějších vztahů Evropské unie. V práci je vysvětlena subjektivita Evropské unie po nabytí platnosti Lisabonské smlouvy. Cílem práce je blíže popsat a zanalyzovat vztahy EU s jinými mezinárodními organizacemi a zároveň přiblížit vystupování Evropské unie na půdě mezinárodních organizací. Důraz je kladen na rozdělení organizací podle toho, kde je EU členem jako organizace a kde jsou členy pouze členské státy.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the relations of European Union to the other international organisations from the point of view of external relations of the EU. The thesis clarifies the legal personality of European Union after the Lisbon Treaty became effective. The goal of the thesis is to describe and analyse partnerships between EU and other international organisations and also to explain the behaviour of EU within the other international organisations. Emphasis is placed on division of the organisations according to where the EU as a whole is a member of the organization and where only EU members are the Member States.
