Longitudinal variability of channel morphology and bed material of the Bílý potok Stream

Abstract:

V této diplomové práci se zabýváme změnami korytové morfologie, v rámci podélného profilu hlavních toků Bílého potoka a Bítýšky od pramene po ústí. Zaměřujeme se na přirozenost či upravenost koryt a na faktory ovlivňující výskyt konkrétních geomorfologických typů koryt. Dále zkoumáme potencionálními zdroje sedimentů v povodí a jejich transport v říčních systémech. Využíváme svých poznatků z terénního průzkumu, analýzy datových podkladů za využití statistických metod, GIS softwaru a WMS služeb a vlastního měření vodních stavů k modelaci intenzity transportu sedimentů ve dvou příkladových lokalitách prostřednictvím softwaru BAGS. K postihnutí vybraných morfometrických parametrů bylo podél hlavních toků vygenerováno 266 měrných bodů s 200 m intervalem. Data parametrů byla statisticky analyzována jak vnitřně, tak i ve vztahu ke geomorfologickým typům koryta, homogenním oblastem či typům příčných profilů údolí. Výsledky poukazují na patrné antropogenní ovlivnění toků po celé délce, ovšem silný zásah je registrován na cca 25 % délky. I přes ovlivnění jsou zaznamenatelné vnitřní vztahy v rámci morfometrických parametrů i vztahy ke geomorfologickým typům koryt či homogenním oblastem. Režim splavenin je značně narušen četností místních diskonektivit na hlavních tocích a dolů po proudu, i přes rostoucí energii toku, zaznamenáváme pokles transportu splavenin způsobených jejích nedostatečným přísunem. Tok tedy lze klasifikovat jako erozně transportní se samočistící schopností vlastního koryta.

Abstract:

In this thesis we deal with river channel morphology changes, within the longitudinal profile of the main flow of the Bílý potok brook and the Bítýška brook from the source to the mouth. We focus on the naturalness and regulated channels and the factors influencing the occurrence of specific geomorphological channels types. Further we investigate potential sediment sources in the drainage basin and their transport in river system. We use our own knowledge of the field survey, analysis of databases for the use of statistical methods, GIS software and WMS services and our own measurements of water levels for the modelling of sediment transport in the two sample channel reaches with BAGS software. There were generated 266 measurement points with 200 m interval along the main flow to characterize the selected morphometric parameters. Data were statistically analyzed, both internally and in relation to geomorphological channel types, homogeneous areas or types of cross sections of the valley. The results point to an apparent anthropogenic modification of channel network, and the strong intervention is registered in about 25% of length. Despite the anthropogenic modification of the channel network, there are noticeable internal relationships within the morphometric parameters and relations to geomorphological types of channels or homogeneous areas. Sediment transport regime is greatly disturbed by frequent of local discontinuties in the main channel and downstream, despite increasing stream power, we register drop of sediment transport caused by insufficient supply. Therefore the Bílý potok brook may be classified as erosion-transport stream evacuating the sediment effectively downstream.
