Anotácia:

Smartfóny sa stali neoddeliteľnou súčasťou nášho života vďaka svojmu pohodliu, jednoduchému používaniu a neustálej dostupnosti. Hoci viaceré štúdie zdôraznili, že ich použivanie je spojené s rôznymi negatívnymi účinkami, smartfóny sú taktiež dôležitým socializačným nástrojom, najmä v živote mladých ľudí. Cieľom tejto práce je preskúmať návyky českých adolescentov pri používaní smartfónov a zistiť, do akej miery možno údaje o používaní smartfónov použiť na predpovedanie krátkodobej nálady. Na túto úlohu používame niekoľko modelov strojového učenia s rôznym rozsahom úspešnosti a porovnávame naše výsledky so štúdiou, ktorá má podobné ciele.

Abstract:

Smartphones have become an inseparable part of our lives thanks to their convenience, ease of use, and constant availability. While several studies highlighted that smartphone use is associated with various negative effects, they are also an important socialization tool, especially in the lives of young people. This thesis aims to investigate the smartphone usage habits of Czech adolescents and explore to what extent can smartphone usage data be used to predict short-term mood. We employ several machine learning models for this task with varying ranges of success and compare our results with a study that has similar objectives.
