The Comparison of the Posture of Elementary School Students Attending a Regular School versus a Specialized Sports School

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce zkoumá rozdíly v držení těla u žáků čtvrté a páté třídy mezi běžnou základní školou a školou se sportovním (atletickým) zaměřením. Teoretická část se zabývá odbornými poznatky týkajícími se analýzy správného a vadného držení těla, včetně identifikace nejběžnějších typů vadného držení. Dále představuje různé metody diagnostiky držení těla a zkoumá vliv sportovního tréninku na žáky a jejich postavení těla v kontextu monotónní sportovní aktivity. V praktické části je popsána metodika našeho výzkumu a následně jsou představeny zjištěné poznatky formou přehledných sloupcových grafů. V některých případech jsou tyto grafy doplněny i drobnými doporučeními pro praktické využití. Výzkumné otázky v této časti práce jsou řešeny prostřednictvím metody Jaroše a Lomíčka, polostrukturovaných rozhovorů a techniky vážení a měření. Získaná data jsou analyzována s ohledem na množství týdenní sportovní aktivity a následně provedena komparace mezi skupinami žáků. Práce dále prezentuje způsoby trávení volného času zkoumaných žáků. V závěru jsou navržena možná řešení a aplikace získaných poznatků v praxi.

Abstract:

This Master´s thesis examines the differences in posture in fourth and fifth grade students between a regular elementary school and a school with a sports (athletic) focus. The theoretical part deals with professional knowledge related to the analysis of correct and faulty posture, including the identification of the most common types of faulty posture. It also introduces different methods of posture diagnosis and examines the effect of sports training on students and their posture in the context of monotonous sports activity. The practical part describes our research methodology and then presents the findings in the form of clear bar charts. In some cases, these graphs are accompanied by minor recommendations for practical application. The research questions in this part of the paper are addressed through the Jaros and Lomíček method, semi-structured interviews and the weighing and measuring technique. The data collected is analysed with regard to the amount of weekly sport activity and then comparisons are made between groups of pupils. The thesis also presents the leisure time activities of the pupils studied. Finally, possible solutions and practical applications of the obtained findings are proposed.
