Social work and the issue of cyberbullying of children and adolescents through parents' point of view

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na problematiku šikany prostřednictvím elektronických komunikačních kanálů mezi dětmi a mladistvými. Čtenáře seznamuje nejen s teoretickým ukotvením kyberšikany, ale také prezentuje data získaná prostřednictvím empirické sondy mezi rodiči těchto dětí. Výzkumné šetření vedené prostřednictvím dotazníku bylo cíleno na rodiče dětí ve věku 6-17 let. Zaměřili jsme se nejen na míru obeznámenosti a osobní zkušenosti s tímto fenoménem, ale také na preferovanou volbu osob a organizací v kontextu prevence a intervence. Z dat vyplynulo, že většina dotazovaných kontroluje aktivity svých dětí na internetu a zajímá se o problematiku kyberšikany. Nicméně sociální pracovníci nejsou rodiči vnímáni jako osoby, na které by se v tomto kontextu obrátili.

Abstract:

Bachelor thesis focuses on the issue of bullying through the electronic communication channels among children and adolescents. Acquaints the reader not only to theoretical anchoring of cyberbullying, but also presents data obtained through an empirical probe among parents of these children. The questionnaire survey was aimed on parents of children aged 6-17 years. We focused not only on the level of familiarity and personal experience with this phenomenon, but also on the preferred choice of persons and organizations in the context of prevention and intervention. The results points that most respondents control their children's activities on the internet and are interested in the issue of cyberbullying. However, social workers are not perceived by parents as people they would turn to in this context.
