Occurence of falls and fractures in patients with cerebrovascular accident and prophylaxis of falls in monitored medical care.

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá výskytem pádů a jejich následků, zejména zlomenin, u pacientů po cévní mozkové příhodě za rok 2008. Záměrem teoretické části práce je popis cévní mozkové příhody, jejíž následky jsou častou příčinou pádů. Cévní mozková příhoda je uváděna jako rizikový faktor pro pád pacienta. Teoretická část popisuje problematiku pádů, jejich výskytu, následků a prevenci pádu v nemocniční a domácí péči. Empirická část má za úkol zjistit výskyt pádů a jejich následků u pacientů po cévní mozkové příhodě, kteří byli ošetřeni z důvodu cévní mozkové příhody nebo pádu po cévní mozkové příhodě v Pardubické krajské nemocnici a.s. nebo následně v Léčebně dlouhodobě nemocných v Rybitví. Výsledky výzkumného šetření by měly napomoci zmapovat stav pádů a jejich následků u pacientů po cévní mozkové příhodě v Pardubicích a blízkém okolí, a upozornit na případné nedostatky v péči či na skupiny pacientů se zvýšeným rizikem.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with an incidence of falls and consequences of these falls - particularly fractures in patients after cerebrovascular accident - per year 2008. Intention of the theoretical part is a description of the cerebrovascular accident because consequences of the cerebrovascular accident are often the cause of falls. Cerebrovascular accident is reported as a risk factor for the fall of patient. The theoretical part describes problem of falls, their occurrence, consequences and prevention of falls in a hospital and home care. Empirical part is to determine the incidence of falls and their consequences for patients after cerebrovascular accident who were treated in the Pardubice Regional Hospital (joint-stock company) or subsequently in a sanatorium in Rybitví. Results of an investigation should help to map the status of falls and their consequences for patients after cerebrovascular accident in Pardubice and surrounding areas. That results alert us to potential deficiencies in care or give notice to patient groups with increased risk.
