The Digital Age - Modern Addictions

Abstract:

Cílem této práce je zjistit jaká pozitiva a negativa z roviny psychologické, sociální a biologické mají závislosti v 21. století. V teoretické části jsou vymezeny jak pojmy závislost, internet, počítačové technologie, sociální sítě a počítačové hry, tak i stručně popsány jejich nejzákladnější druhy. V dalších kapitolách se práce orientuje na novodobé závislosti, a to konkrétně na závislosti na sociálních sítích a počítačových hrách. Jsou popsána pozitiva a negativa z pohledu již zmíněných tří rovin, ale také doporučené zásady, jak tyto služby na internetu bezpečně používat a zužitkovat jejich možný potenciál naplno. Praktická část je realizována skrze kvalitativní výzkum, přesněji polostrukturovaný rozhovor. Cílem rozhovoru je poukázat na individuální názory týkající se novodobých závislostí. Cílovou skupinou výzkumu jsou lidé ve věku od 18-35 let.

Abstract:

The aim of this work is to find out what positives and negatives from the psychological, social and biological levels of addiction in the 21st century. The theoretical part defines the concepts of addiction, the Internet, computer technology, social networks and computer games, as well as briefly describes their most fundamental types. In the following chapters, the work focuses on modern addictions, specifically on addictions to social networks and computer games. The positives and negatives from the point of view of the already mentioned three levels are described, but also the recommended principles of how to employ these services safely on the Internet and utilize their possible potential to the full. The practical part is realized through qualitative research, more precisely a semi-structured interview. The aim of the interview is to point out individual opinions concerning modern addictions. The target group of the research is people aged 18-35.
