Relationship between spontaneous activity and creativity preschool child and parental style of child-rearing

Abstract:

Cílem této práce je prozkoumat možný vliv rodičovského výchovného stylu a míry kreativity předškolního dítěte. Byly stanoveny dvě hypotézy, které byly testovány na výzkumném vzorku předškolních dětí (N=58) a jejich rodičů. První hypotéza předpokládala, že extrémně kladný rodičovský vztah bude mít negativní vliv na kreativní výkon dítěte. Druhá hypotéza předpokládala, že děti se silným typem výchovného řízení budou mít horší kreativní výkon, než děti se středním typem výchovného řízení. Výchovný styl rodičů byl zjišťován pomocí 40-položkového Čápova dotazníku pro zjišťování způsobu výchovy v rodině. Míra kreativity byla zjišťována prostřednictvím Urbanova figurálního testu kreativního myšlení. Data byla následně analyzována jednofaktorovou analýzou rozptylu (ANOVA) a Kruskal-Wallisovým testem. Analýzou dat se nepotvrdila ani jedna z hypotéz. Byl ale objeven statisticky signifikantní výsledek, který vyvrátil druhou hypotézu: ukázalo se, že děti se silným rodičovským řízením měly v jedné z variant testu vyšší průměrný skór kreativity, než děti se středním výchovným řízením. Následná analýza ukázala, že většina dětí se silným výchovným řízením měla zároveň extrémně kladný emoční vztah rodičů. Tyto výsledky ale nebyly statisticky signifikantní. Doporučuji tuto problematiku podrobit dalšímu zkoumání.

Abstract:

The aim of this work is to explore the influence of a parental way of child rearing on a spontaneous activity and creativity of pre-school children. Two hypotheses were tested on a sample of pre-school children (N=58) and their parents. The first one claimed that extremely positive emotional relationship with their parents has negative effect on children´s creativity performance. The second hypothesis claimed that children with a strong type of fostering have worse creativity performance than children with a middle type of fostering. The parental way of rearing was examined with the use of a 40-item questionnaire on a parental rearing style by Čáp. Measurement of creativity was provided with Urban´s figural test of creative thinking. Data were analyzed with one-way ANOVA and Kruskal-Wallis tests. The analysis confirmed neither hypothesis. There was, however, a significant result in denial of the second hypothesis: it showed that an average creativity level was higher in a group of children with the strong type of fostering than with the middle type of fostering. An ensuing analysis showed that these children had extremely positive parental emotional relationship. The latter results were statistically insignificant, therefore further exploration in this topic is recommended.
