Inklusion of students with mental disabilities in regular elementary school end development their communication abilities

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá seznámením s problematikou inkluze a začlenění žáků s lehkým mentálním postižením do vzdělávání na druhém stupni běžné základní školy a rozvojem jejich komunikačních schopností. Celkem je práce rozčleněna do tří kapitol. Dvě obsahují teoretickou část a jedna praktickou část. První kapitola definuje mentální postižení a inkluzivní vzdělávání těchto žáků. Druhá kapitola vymezuje narušenou komunikační schopnost a možnosti stimulace řeči u žáků s mentálním postižením. Praktická část shrnuje výsledky kvalitativního výzkumného šetření. Použito bylo přímé pozorování, polostrukturovaný rozhovor a analýza výsledků činnosti. Všechny zjištěné výsledky jsou popsány a vyhodnoceny v závěru praktické části.

Abstract:

My Bachelor's Thesis deals with common issues with regards to inclusion of slightly mentally retarded students into the commongrade schools' educational program, where these students study together with other students who do not suffer from any retardation. It is focused on helping to further develop the communicative and cognitive abilities and skills of the students with lesser communicative and cognitive abilities, dealing specifically with students 11 to 15 years old. The first chapter describes and specifies the degree and area of the mental retardation in students, and offers ways of their inclusion in to the educational system. The second chapter deals with the methods and ways how to stimulate and further influence development of speech and speaking ability in slightly mentally retarded students. The practical part shows a summary of the results and analyses, gained via field work and research, in which direct observation and a half structured dialogues were used. All relevant information and documentation gained are described, assessed, and included in this part of my thesis.
