The effectiveness of meetings in relation to the attendee's interactions and the characteristics of organizational design

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá efektivitou meetingů ve vztahu k interakcím účastníků a charakteristikám organizačního designu. Cílem práce bylo určit vztahy mezi interakcemi před/během/po meetingu a efektivitou meetingu v kontextu teorie organizačního designu. Na základě literární rešerše byl konstruován konceptuální model, na jehož základě byly stanoveny výzkumné hypotézy. Výzkum byl realizován prostřednictvím dotazníkového šetření, které se skládalo ze dvou fází. V rámci realizovaného výzkumu se podařilo prokázat pozitivní vliv tří dílčích konstruktů interakcí před meetingem a dvou dílčích konstruktů ve vztahu k meeting invovementu. U meeting involvementu byl zároveň potvrzen pozitivní vliv na efektivitu meetingu. Pozitivní vliv na efektivitu meetingu byl rovněž potvrzen u tří dílčích konstruktů interakcí po meetingu. Práce je přínosná především pro manažery, kteří vedou meetingy, a mohou tak do jisté míry ovlivňovat interakce nejen během meetingu, ale před samotným meetingem i po jeho ukončení.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with the effectiveness of meetings in relation to the attendee's interactions and the characteristics of organizational design. The work aimed to determine the relationships between interactions before / during / after the meeting and the effectiveness of the meeting in the context of the theory of organizational design. Based on a literature search, a conceptual model was constructed, based on which research hypotheses were established. The research was carried out through a questionnaire survey, which consisted of two phases. Within the research, it was possible to prove the positive influence of three partial constructs of interactions before the meeting and two partial constructs in relation to the meeting involvement. At the same time, the positive involvement in the meeting's effectiveness was confirmed. The positive effect on the effectiveness of the meeting was also confirmed in three partial constructs of interactions after the meeting. The work is beneficial, especially for managers who lead meetings, and can thus to some extent influence interactions not only during the meeting but before the meeting itself and after its end.
