Contemporary islamism in Sanjak

Abstract:

Předložená bakalářská práce se věnuje analýze soudobého islamismu v oblasti srbského a černohorského Sandžaku. První část práce se soustředí především na historii Sandžaku s důrazem na období během rozpadu Jugoslávie, kdy došlo k (re)islamizaci daného prostoru. Druhá část práce se zaměřuje na radikalizaci sandžackých muslimů v posledním desetiletí (2007-2017), přičemž se dělí na období etablování salafistického hnutí v oblasti a současné období existence tzv. Islámského státu. Fenomén tzv. Islámského státu ve spojitosti se Sandžakem je jádrem této práce, neboť na blízkovýchodních bojištích se v současnosti pohybuje několik desítek sandžackých muslimů.

Abstract:

Submitted thesis deals with an analysis of contemporary Islamism in the region of Serbian and Montenegrin Sandžak. The first part of thesis focuses mainly on the history of Sandžak with an emphasis on the period during the dissolution of Yugoslavia, when the (re)islamization of the area took place. The second part of thesis focuses on the radicalization of Sandžak Muslims in the last decade (2007-2017) and is divided on the period of the establishment of Salafi movement in the region and the current period of the existence of the so-called Islamic State. Phenomenon of the so-called Islamic State in connection with Sandžak is the core of this thesis since there are several dozens of Sandžak Muslims on the Middle Eastern battlefields.
