Physiological response of fire fighters to specific stress

Abstract:

Cílem diplomové práce je pilotní studie se záměrem zjistit odezvu srdeční frekvence a krevního tlaku hasiče při provádění sportovní hasičské soutěže T.F.A. a přispět tak ke zjištění náročnosti T.F.A. na oběhový systém. Jedná se o hasičskou soutěž imitující skutečný zásah hasiče. T.F.A. (z anglického „Toughest Firefighter Alive“, volně přeloženo „Nejtvrdší hasič přežívá“) je charakteristická svoji specifičností a komplexností na sportovce. Byly naměřeny a vypočítané hodnoty, které nám napomáhají zjistit míru zatížení krevní cirkulace.

Abstract:

The aim of the thesis is a pilot study with the intent to find a response of heart rate and blood pressure of a fire fighter to taking part in T.F.A competition and contribute to the detection of performance strain on the circulatory system whilst competing. T.F.A. is firefighting competition imitating a real intervention, (T.F.A. meaning "Toughest Firefighter Alive" in English, loosely translated as “Nejtvrdší hasič přežívá“), and it’s characterised by its specific nature and complexity for the athletes. Measured and calculated values are meant to help us determine the level of strain on blood circulation.
