Escape game in environmental education

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá využitím únikové hry jako inovativního výukového nástroje v environmentální výchově na základních a středních školách. Cílem práce je navrhnout a sestavit únikovou hru, následně vytvořit metodický materiál pro učitele a ověřit efektivitu tohoto výukového materiálu. Teoretická část se zabývá gamifikací ve výuce, principy únikových her, formativním hodnocením a průřezovým tématem environmentální výchovy, jak je zakotveno v Rámcovém vzdělávacím programu. Praktická část popisuje návrh, realizaci a evaluaci únikové hry, která byla testována ve výuce na základní a střední škole. Výsledky ověřování ukázaly, že úniková hra podporuje aktivní zapojení žáků, rozvoj týmové spolupráce a aplikaci teoretických poznatků v praxi. Bylo zjištěno, že efektivita řešení úkolů je ovlivněna složením pracovních skupin a individuálními studijními predispozicemi žáků. Na základě analýzy byly identifikovány klíčové oblasti pro optimalizaci hry, včetně lepší integrace teoretických a praktických prvků, jasnějších instrukcí a diferenciace obtížnosti úkolů. Tato práce přispívá k rozvoji metodiky využití únikových her ve výuce přírodních věd a poskytuje metodický materiál pro učitele, kteří chtějí tuto aktivizační metodu implementovat do vzdělávacího procesu. Závěry naznačují, že únikové hry mohou být efektivním nástrojem pro rozvoj odborných znalostí i klíčových kompetencí žáků. Budoucí výzkum by se měl zaměřit na širší testování této metody a její další modifikace a vylepšení.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the use of escape game as an innovative teaching tool in environmental education in primary and secondary schools. The aim of the thesis is to design and build an escape game, then to create a methodological material for teachers and to verify the effectiveness of this teaching material. The theoretical part deals with gamification in teaching, principles of escape games, formative assessment and the cross-cutting theme of environmental education as embedded in the Framework Educational Program. The practical part describes the design, implementation and evaluation of an escape game that has been tested in primary and secondary schools. The results of the validation showed that the escape game promotes active involvement of pupils, development of teamwork and application of theoretical knowledge in practice. It was found that the effectiveness of task solving is influenced by the composition of the working groups and the individual learning predispositions of the pupils. Based on the analysis, key areas for optimising the game were identified, including better integration of theoretical and practical elements, clearer instructions and differentiation of task difficulty. This work contributes to the development of a methodology for the use of escape games in science education and provides methodological material for teachers who wish to implement this activation method in the educational process. The conclusions suggest that escape games can be an effective tool for the development of students' professional knowledge and key competences. Future research should focus on wider testing of this method and its further modifications and improvements.
