Working strategies used in contact with mentally disabled people.

Abstract:

Tato práce se zabývá pracovními strategiemi pracovníků v konkrétním zařízení. V teoretické části práce jsou popsány osoby s mentálním postižením, pojmy motivace, stereotypizace a přístup pracovníka a jednotlivé druhy aktivit – terapií. V metodologické části je popsán způsob sběru dat a výběr vzorku. Práce je založena na kvalitativním sběru dat. Byla použita metoda polostrukturovanáho rozhovoru se šesti respondenty z konkrétního zařízení. Výzkumný vzorek činil pět pracovnic a jednoho pracovníka. Jednotlivé rozhovory byly podrobeny otevřenému kódování a poté kategorizovány. Výzkumná otázka měla za cíl vysledovat, jaké pracovní strategie pracovníci uplatňují při práci s lidmi s mentálním postižením. Po analýze dat byla objevena podobnost používaných strategií u všech pracovníků. V diskuzi jsou postupně všechny čtyři kategorie (stereotypizace, kontrolující pracovník, motivační jednání, potřeba a realita) zhodnoceny, a jsou mezi nimi načrtnuty vztahy. Jednotlivé strategie se navzájem ovlivňují a umožňují pracovníkovi kombinovat tyto postupy.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the working strategies for labours in a specific institution. The theoretical part of this thesis desribes the persons with mental disabilities, the concepts of motivation, stereotyping and access to the worker and the individual types of activities – therapies. In the methodological section there is described the collecting of data and samplings. This thesis consisted of based on qualitative data collection method. There was used the method of semi-structured interviews with six respondents from specific institution. The research sample was five (female) laboures and one (male) labour. Individual interviews were subjected to open coding and then categorized. The research question was designed to trace what working strategies did the labourers apply while working people with mental disability. After analyzing the data there was discovered similarity of strategies used by all labours. In the discussion are gradually all four categories (stereotyping, controlling labours, motivational talks, need and reality) evaluated and are outlined relationships among them. Particular strategies are influencing each other and allow the labour combine these procedures.
