The practise and significance of profession of youth welfare officer in the system of a social-legal children protection

Abstract:

Moje bakalářská práce pojednává o výkonu a smyslu profese kurátora pro mládež v systému sociálně-právní ochrany dětí. V teoretické části jsou konceptualizovány charakteristické pojmy související s otázkou smysluplnosti kurátorské práce, dále pojednává o úskalích v naplnění smyslu práce kurátorů. Teoretická část vycházela zejména z dostupné literatury, částečně také z mých poznatků a zkušeností z praxe. Následuje část metodická, kde je zdůvodněn výběr kvalitativní výzkumné strategie a kde je popsána realizace výzkumného šetření včetně identifikace limitů výzkumu. Analytická část práce uvádí výsledná zjištění z provedených pěti polostandardizovaných rozhovorů s kurátory pro mládež, které byly zdrojem potřebných dat. Tato zjištění odpovídají na hlavní výzkumnou otázku zabývající se tím, jak kurátoři vnímají smysl své práce a na jaká úskalí narážejí při jeho naplňování.

Abstract:

My bachelor thesis deals with the practise and the significance of profession of youth welfare officer in system of a social-legal children protection. In the theoretical part the characteristic notions associated with the question of advisability of work of youth welfare officer are conceptualized, and then difficulties in filling the significance of work of youth welfare officer are treated. The teoretical part results mainly from especially available literature and partly also from my knowledge and practise experience. The following methodical part states the reasons for choosing the qualitative research strategy and desribes the implementation of the research including research limits identification. The analytical part features the resulting findings of five performed semi-standardized interviews with youth welfare officers, which were the source of needed information. These findings answer the main research question about how do youth welfare officers perceive the significance of their work and also which difficulties youth welfare officers refer to when they filling it.
