Bank stress tests

Abstract:

Cílem této bakalářské práce je charakteristika procesu zátěžového testování bank, fungování evropského dohledu a následná interpretace výsledků celounijního zátěžového testu EBA v roce 2021. Teoretická část se detailněji zaměřuje na historický vývoj a celkovou podstatu zátěžového testování, včetně přístupů, zodpovědných orgánů a mechanismu dohledu. V empirické části se budu zabývat uskutečněným testem v roce 2021 na evropské úrovni sestaveným na míru současné pandemické situaci a jeho výsledky.

Abstract:

The objective of this bachelor thesis is to introduce the stress testing process, the functioning of European supervision and to provide interpretation of the results of the EU-wide stress test conducted by EBA in 2021. The theoretical part focuses in more detail on the historical development and the overall nature of stress testing, including its approaches, responsible authorities and the supervisory mechanism. In the empirical part, I will describe results of the wide stress test in launched in January 2021 at the European level which took into account the impact of current COVID-19 pandemic.
