Abstract:

Disertační práce se zaměřuje na tři země střední a výchovní Evropy (Česká republika, Polsko, Slovensko), které sdílejí podobnou historickou zkušenost vývoje. Zmíněné země byly předmětem rychlého integračního úsilí směrem s Západní Evropě – známého též jako “návrat do Evropy”. Tato práce přistupuje k této skutečnosti z teoretické perspektivy zaměřující se na roli politických stran v liberálních demokraciích. Práce zkoumá vliv evropského prostředí na politické strany na národní úrovni. Jak se vyrovnávají s obsahovým nesouladem jejich chápání národní identity a jak s těmito nesoulady nakládají za situace, kdy jsou automaticky vystaveny vnějším vlivům? Analýza zahrnuje parlamentní strany v jejich národním kontextu v období 2004 – 2013, které disponovaly zastoupením jak na národní, tak evropské politické scéně. Hlavním zdrojem dat jsou volební programy publikované ku příležitosti parlamentních voleb v jednotlivých zemích. Celkem se jedná o 3 volby v každé zemi

Abstract:

The dissertation focuses on three countries of the Central East Europe (the Czech Republic, Poland, and Slovakia) which share similar experience of their past development. All three countries have been a matter of swift integration towards Western European communities as a “return to Europe”. This work approaches the situation from a theoretical perspective focusing on the role of political parties in liberal democracies. The thesis explores how their behaviour was influenced by the European environment. How did they cope with possible misfits of their understanding of national identity and how these (mis)fits interplay when being part of the European political environment. This work introduces a research framework that allows the analysis of national identity without normative connotation. The analysis covers parliamentary (in national context) political parties (in period 2004 – 2013) that have had political representation at both a national and European level. Electoral programs published on the occasion of the past three parliamentary elections in each country have been used as the main source of data for the analysis.
