The stimulation as an instrument to influence a work motivation of employees

Abstract:

Cílem této diplomové práce je zjistit, jak metody stimulace uplatňované vedoucími pracovníky podporují nebo brání pracovní motivaci pracovníků. Teoretická část této práce se věnuje vymezení problematiky pracovní motivace a také vlivu různých nástrojů stimulace užívaných různými způsoby k tomu, aby působily na motivy lidi zevně nebo zevnitř a ovlivnily tím jejich pracovní úsilí a výkony. Pomocí odborné literatury jsem se soustředila na to, jaké účinky mají tyto nástroje na pracovní motivy lidí. Výstupem teoretické části jsou identifikované faktory motivace, s nimiž firmy pracují za účelem ovlivnit pracovní motivaci zaměstnanců. Pro empirické šetření byla zvolena kvalitativní strategie výzkumu. V průběhu výzkumu došlo jak k analýze firemních dokumentů, tak k rozhovorům s vedoucími pracovníky oddělení, tak i s některými jejich podřízenými pracovníky. Bylo zjištěno, že metody stimulace podporují pracovní motivaci zejména v oblasti obsahu práce. V oblasti pracovních vztahů se ukázala jako nedostatečná metoda budování týmové práce a v oblasti odměnění a ocenění se v jednom z případů ukázala nedostatečně naplněná potřeba uznání. Závěr práce zahrnuje doporučení, jak by vedoucí měli změnit svůj způsob práce, kterým uplatňují nástroje stimulace vůči svým pracovníkům a efektivně tím dokázat naplnit jak potřeby firmy, tak potřeby pracovníků.

Abstract:

The aim of this thesis is to find out how methods of stimulation applied by managers promote or hinder the motivation of their workers. The theoretical part of this thesis deals with the definition of working motivation and effects of various stimulation tools used in different ways. These tools influence the motives of people and their work effort and performance externally or internally. Using literature I focused on effects of these tools to motives of people to work. The outcome of the theoretical part is identifying of motivation factors with which firms are working because they want to influence work motivation of their workers. For research I chose a qualitative research strategy. In the course of the empirical research I analyzed corporate documents and did interviews with department managers and also with some of their subordinate staff. It was found that used the methods of stimulation promote the motivation especially in the content of work. In the area of relationships at workplace was detected insufficient method of building teamwork. In one of the cases I detected that the reward and appreciation insufficient satisfies the needs recognition. The conclusion includes recommendations on how leaders should change their way of working with tools of stimulation in order to they could effectively satisfy the needs of firm and the needs of workers.
