Diplomová práce se zabývá zákrytovou dvojhvězdou UX UMa, která je řazena do novám podobných proměnných. Jsou zde uvedeny obecné vlastnosti dvojhvězd a klasifikace kataklyzmických objektů. Dále byly shrnuty informace o systému UX UMa dostupné z literatury a provedena charakteristika světelných křivek tohoto objektu. The Diploma thesis is concentrated to the eclipsing binary UX UMa, which is classified as the nova-like object. There are generally properties of the double stars and classification of cataclysmic objects mentioned here.
