The Analysis of stressful situations among primary school children

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce je rozdělena na teoretickou a praktickou část. Zabývá se analýzou stresových situací a vývojem emocí u žáků na základní škole. Cílem práce bylo zjistit, zda žáky znervózňuje psaní testů a zda jsou žáci k tomuto opakování látky a postupům určitým způsobem náchylní. Teoretická část vysvětluje pojmy jako emoce a jejich vývoj, strach, úzkost, stresové situace a copingové strategie pro jejich zvládnutí. Praktická část vyhodnocuje kvantitativní výzkum dvěma dotazníky. První dotazník byl zaměřen na obecné prožívání strachu a druhý zkoumal stresovou úzkost u žáků. Hodnocena byla ovlivnitelnost nervozity a míra strachu ze zkoušení a opakování. Z výzkumu vyplynulo, že žáci nevnímají příliš velkou nervozitu při psaní testů. Zatím pociťují spíše emoční strach než kognitivní. Nestresuje je ani škola jako taková. Strach u žáků z neúspěchu ovlivňuje mnoho faktorů a čím více jich na ně působí, tím více jsou vystaveni stresu.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part. It deals with the analysis of stressful situations and the development of emotions in studentss on primary school. The aim of the work was to find out whether the students are nervous about taking tests and whether the students are in some way prone to this repetition of the material and procedures. The theoretical part explains concepts such as emotions and their development, fear, anxiety, stressful situations and coping strategies to manage them. The practical part evaluates quantitative research with two questionnaires. The first questionnaire focused on the general experience of fear and the second examined stress anxiety in students. The susceptibility of nervousness and the degree of fear of rehearsal and repetition were assessed. The research showed that students do not feel too nervous when taking a test. So far, they feel more emotional fear than cognitive. They are also not stressed by the school itself. Students' fear of failure is affected by many factors, and the more factors that affect them, the more they are exposed to stress.
