Abstract:
The thesis looks at the American Modernism through the eyes of John Steinbeck. There are four parts. The first part mirrors the historical background which marked the whole society. Consequently, the attention is turned towards the books' heroes, their position in society and problems. Abstract:
Tato práce se dívá na americký modernismus očima Johna Steinbecka. Je rozdělena do čtyř částí. Nejprve zkoumá odraz doby, jejíž události silně zasáhly celou společnost. Po té se obrací na jednostlivé hrdiny, jejich společenské postavení a problémy. Popisuje prostředí, typické pro J.Steinbecka - zejména Salinas Valley a Monterey, sleduje způsob, jak dokresluje děj i popis, atmosféru. Závěrem se obrací …more
