Socio-cultural issues of management ethics in the hotel industry and its impacts on the management staff

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá sociokulturními rozdíly manažerské etiky v oblasti hotelnictví, z pohledu samotných zaměstnanců a hlavně vrcholových manažerů. V úvodu jsou vymezeny pojmy kultury a multikulturních rozdílů a problémů s ním spojených v podniku. Dále je v práci popsán význam manažerské etiky, etiky jako součástí společenské odpovědnosti firem, a význam etického kodexu pro firmy. Druhá sekce teoretické části je zaměřena na popsání sociokulturních rozdílů. Analytická část práce se zaměřuje na výzkumné šetření za pomoci dotazníku a řízeného rozhovoru, jehož cílem je analýza získaných dat. Jednotlivé otázky z dotazníkového šetření a řízeného rozhovoru vyplývají z teoretické části práce a lze z nich vyvodit hypotézy. Návrhová část práce obsahuje zhodnocení jednotlivých výsledků analýzy a řízeného rozhovoru se dvěma manažery a návrhy na jejich zlepšení. V závěru práce jsou shrnuty výsledky a vyhodnocení jednotlivých hypotéz.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with the socio-cultural issues of management ethics in the hotel industry and its impacts on the management staff. The introduction defines the concepts of culture and multicultural differences and problems associated with it in the company. Furthermore, the importance of managerial ethics, ethics as part of corporate social responsibility and the importace of ethical cod efor companies is described. The second section of the theoretical part informs about socio-cultural differences. The analytical part of the thesis is focused on the research survey with the help of a questionnaire and a controlled interview, whose goal is to analyze the obtained data. Individual questions from the questionnaire survey and the controlled interview result from the theoretical part of the thesis, and hypotheses can be deduced from them. The last part of the thesis includes an evaluation of the individual results of the analysis and a controlled interview with two managers and suggestions for their improvement. The results and evaluation of individual hypotheses are summarized in the end of the thesis.
