The Reading Literacy and Difficult Words in the Text-books in the First Grade of a Primary School

Abstract:

Diplomová práce Čtenářská gramotnost a obtížná slova v učebnicových textech na 1. stupni ZŠ se zaměřuje na čtenářskou gramotnost, mezinárodní výzkum PIRLS, na učebnici a její poslání a charakteristiku v edukačním procesu. Diplomová práce si klade za cíl zjistit, zda lze zaznamenat rozdíly v porozumění textu žáků 1. stupně ZŠ v případě samostatné jejich práce a v případě, kdy pracují s textem pod vedením učitele. Dále se zaměřujeme na to, jakou roli hraje lexikální význam slov či slovních obratů v procesu porozumění textu, přičemž nemohly být pominuty ani frazeologické obraty textu obsažené. Práce je členěna na část teoretickou a empirickou. Teoretická část se pokouší systematizovat poznatky z odborné literatury týkající se tématu diplomové práce. Empirická část prezentuje výsledky výzkumného šetření zaměřeného na zjišťování porozumění textu z hlediska zastoupení jednotlivých procesů porozumění za určitých podmínek. Šetření se uskutečnilo v rámci jedné třídy formou dotazníků a testů. Výsledky byly zpracovány kvantitativní výzkumnou metodou a celkové vyhodnocení jednoznačně ukázalo nepostradatelnost a nezastupitelnost práce s textem pod vedením učitele.

Abstract:

The thesis Reading Literacy and Difficult Words in the Textbooks in the First Grade of a Primary School is focused on reading literacy, international PIRLS research and on the role and characteristic of a textbook in the educational process. The main aim of my diploma thesis is to conclude whether it is possible to register the differences in the text comprehension in the cases where the pupils are handling the text on their own or under the guidance of a teacher. It further studies the role of the lexical meanings of single words, lexical phrases and idioms in the process of the text comprehension. The thesis is divided into a theoretical and empirical part. The former one systematizes findings from academic resources focusing on the topic of reading literacy. The empirical part presents research data of an investigation aimed at detecting text comprehension in terms of understanding the representation of individual processes under certain conditions. The investigation took place within a single class in the form of questionnaires and tests. The results were processed and quantitative research method clearly showed an overall indispensability and irreplaceable work with the text under the guidance of a teacher.
