Impacts of the Covid 19 pandemic on recruitment in technology companies

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se bude zabývat vlivem pandemie Covid 19 na recruitment v technologických podnicích. Cílem práce bude zjistit, zdali online recruitment, na který musely firmy z důvodu pandemie Covid 19 přejít, dokáže plnohodnotně nahradit prezenční formu náborových řízení. Práce bude založena jak na kvalitativním, tak i kvantitativním výzkumu. Kvalitativní výzkum bude proveden formou polostrukturovaných rozhovorů s recruitery, kteří se v průběhu pandemie účastnili výběrových řízení. Rozhovory se budou zaobírat zkušenostmi recruiterů s online náborovým procesem, jeho výhodami i nevýhodami a obecně jejich preferencemi ohledně formy náborového řízení. Kvantitativní výzkum bude proveden formou dotazníku, jehož respondenty budou zaměstnanci vybraných společností, do kterých byli v průběhu pandemie přijati. Budu zjišťovat jejich osobní zkušenost s náborovým řízením, jejich preference apod. Výzkum bude proveden v technologických firmách sídlících v Brně. Výstupem práce bude, na základě výsledků provedených analýz, zhodnocení, zdali se výběrová řízení dají plnohodnotně pořádat formou online a zároveň budou uvedena doporučení, jež by měla vést k zefektivnění náborů v IT společnostech. Práce bude přínosná pro HR oddělení středních a velkých technologických společností.

Abstract:

The thesis will examine the impact of the Covid 19 pandemic on recruitment in technology companies. The goal will be to determine whether online recruitment, to which companies had to switch due to the Covid 19 pandemic, can fully replace the face-to-face form of recruitment. The work will be based on both qualitative and quantitative research. The qualitative research will be conducted in the form of semi-structured interviews with recruiters who participated in the selection process during the pandemic. The interviews will address recruiter's experience with the online recruitment process, its advantages and disadvantages, and their preferences regarding the form of recruitment in general. The quantitative research will be conducted in the form of a questionnaire with respondents being employees of the selected companies to which they were recruited during the pandemic. The in their personal experience of the recruitment process, their preferences etc. The research will be conducted in technology firms based in Brno. The output of the thesis will be based on the results of the analyses carried out, an evaluation of whether hiring procedures can be fully organized online and there will be provided recommendations that should lead to more effective recruitment processes in IT companies. The work will be helpful for HR departments of medium and large companies.
