Abstract:

Cílem této bakalářské práce je vytvořit prototyp aplikace pro tvorbu vědeckých komiksů. Práce vysvětluje, proč jsou komiksy efektivním prostředkem pro prezentování vědy, a hodnotí čtyři stávající aplikace. Na základě zjištění jsem navrhla a vytvořila prototyp nové aplikace s využitím JavaScriptu, především jeho knihovny D3.js. Zamýšlenými uživateli aplikace jsou vědci bez informatického vzdělání. Proto byla aplikace vyvinuta s důrazem na jednoduchost a intuitivnost. K vyhodnocení aplikace byla provedena pilotní a uživatelská studie. V závěru práce jsou diskutovány výsledky uživatelské studie. Nakonec práce navrhuje budoucí vylepšení.

Abstract:

The aim of this thesis is to create a prototype of an application for creating scientific comics. The thesis explains why comics are efficient for communicating science and evaluates four existing applications. Based on the findings, I designed and prototyped a new application using JavaScript, mainly its D3.js library. The intended users of the application are scientists without a computer science background. Therefore, the application was developed with a focus on simplicity and intuitiveness. A pilot and user study were conducted to evaluate the user experience. At the end of the thesis, the findings from the user study are discussed. Finally, the thesis suggests future improvements.
