Abstract:

ANOTACE Tato bakalářská práce s názvem “Using Story Writing in the English Language Classroom“ je zaměřená na výuku anglického jazyka mladších žáků a věnuje se výuce kreativního psaní, zejména psaní příběhů v anglickém jazyce. Teoretická část porovnává jazykový stupeň mladších žáků, v tomto případě žáků šestých a devátých tříd, dále se zabývá výukou psaní všeobecně a v neposlední řadě se věnuje druhům kreativního psaní. V závěrečné části je uvedeno proč je dobré zařadit psaní příběhů do výuky anglického jazyka, jestli je těžké napsat příběh v anglickém jazyce, současně je zde uveden návod, jak takový příběh psát. Je zde vysvětleno jak podpořit studenty vyjádřit své myšlenky a nápady a rozvíjet jejich představivost navzdory různým obtížím. V praktické části jsou uvedeny kroky průzkumu, který byl udělán se žáky ZŠ Holzova. Zaměřuje se na přístup žáků k psaní příběhů, stejně i na pozitivní a negativní stránky, které byly shledány při psaní příběhů v těchto třídách. Závěr této bakalářské práce je založen na analýze praktické části. Tato část je věnována kladným a záporným aspektům psaní příběhů v šesté a deváté třídě a porovnání těchto dvou tříd.

Abstract:

ANNOTATION The thesis “Using Story Writing in the English Language Classroom“ deals with teaching English language as a foreign language to young learners and it is focused on creative writing, mainly story writing. The theoretical part covers issues regarding language level of young learners, in this case sixths graders and ninths graders, furthermore it writes about writing in general and also touches different types of creative writing. It is more concerned with story writing in the last part. It explains why to use stories in English classes, and it is concerned with a question if it is difficult to write a story. It gives instructions how to write a story. It explains how to encourage students to express their unique thoughts and feelings and develops students’ imagination in spite of difficulties and obstacles. The practical part presents steps and the outcome of research with sixth graders and ninth graders in Holzova basic school. It explains the highlights and obstacles when using story writing as a teaching tool as well as the young learners’ approach to story-writing. This bachelor thesis draws a conclusion based on the analyses from the practical part. It focuses on positive and negative aspects of using story writing in the class of sixth graders and in the class of ninth graders and provides comparisons between the classes.
