The Situation of Greeks and Macedonians in Brno after 1948 Interpreted by the Protagonists Themselves

Abstract:

Práce pojednává převážně o situaci v Řecku za občanské války v letech 1947-1949 a osudech jejích obětí. Oběťmi nebyli jen ti, kteří ve válce padli, ale i několik tisícovek dětí, které byly poslány Komunistickou stranou Řecka do tehdejších socialistických zemí. Metodou "oral history" práce seznamuje s životními příběhy těchto imigrantů řeckého a makedonského původu. Uvádím i příklad druhé generace, narozené již v Československu, jejich vztah k Řecku a míru asimilace.

Abstract:

This paper deals with the situation in Greece during the civil war years 1947-49 and about the destinies of its victims. The victims also were several thousand of children under 14 years old, who were sent to the countries under socialist regime at that time. This paper tells us couple life stories of some Greeks and Macedonians of that first generation of immigrants through the 'oral history' method. This paper also includes interviews with the second generation of Greek immigrants issued from mixed marriages - Czech and Greek parents.
