První kapitola teoretické části se zabývá problematikou seniorů v intenzivní péči a etickými hledisky. Druhá kapitola je věnována konceptu bazální stimulace a jeho poznatkům. Popisuje teoretickou základnu a východiska konceptu, se zaměřením na prvky bazální stimulace využitelné u seniorů. Empirická část mapuje využití konceptu nelékařskými zdravotnickými pracovníky na jednotkách intenzivní péče KNTB, a. s., kde probíhalo výzkumné šetření. Prezentuje jejich zkušenosti s aplikací konceptu bazální stimulace, nejčastěji aplikované typy bazální stimulace u seniorů, ale také problémy, které vnímají při aplikaci konceptu v praxi.

The first chapter deals with the problems of seniors in intensive care and their ethic point of views. The second chapter is devoted to the concept of basal stimulation and its to its knowledge. It describes the theoretical basis and the concept possibilities with orientation in elements of the basal stimulation, applicable at seniors. The empiric part surveys the concept application by non-medical health workers in unit of Intensive Care of KNTB, a. s. where the survey was provided. It presents their experience with the application of the concept of basal stimulation, the most commonly applied types of the basal stimulation of seniors, however, also the problems which are being perceived at this concept application in praxis.
