Quality of life patients with ischemic disease lower limbs

Abstract:

Cíl: Cílem výzkumu bylo zjistit kvalitu života seniorů s diagnostikovaným onemocněním ischemická choroba dolních končetin. Dílčí cíle byly zaměřeny na rozdíly ve vnímání kvality života v jednotlivých doménách z hlediska pohlaví, věku, stádia onemocnění a délky onemocnění. Metodika: Výzkumné šetření probíhalo ve zdravotnickém zařízení od února 2018 do srpna 2018. Do výzkumného vzorku bylo zařazeno celkem 108 respondentů hospitalizovaných v dané nemocnici. Ke zjištění požadovaných cílů byla použita metoda kvantitativního šetření s použitím dotazníků zahrnující demografické údaje a údaje vztahující se k problematice daného onemocnění. Ke zjištění kvality života byl použit standardizovaný dotazník SF 36. Stádium onemocnění bylo hodnoceno dle celosvětově používané klasifikace Fontaine. Výsledky: Dotazníkovým šetřením bylo zjištěno, že ischemická choroba dolních končetin má velký vliv na vnímání kvality života seniorů a to ve všech oblastech života. Z šetření dále vyplynulo, že senioři hodnotí své zdraví jako špatné až velmi špatné. Dalším zjištěním bylo, že vnímaná kvalita života v jednotlivých doménách se liší dle věku, délky onemocnění a také stádia onemocnění. Z hlediska pohlaví, nebyl zjištěn výrazný rozdíl. Z výzkumu vyplynulo, že čím vyšší stupeň onemocnění a délka onemocnění, tím horší kvalita života. Tyto výsledky jsou téměř totožné s výsledky studií zaměřujících se na danou problematiku. Závěr: Závěrem můžeme říci, že pacienti s ischemickou chorobou dolních končetin vyžadují vysokou míru podpory v udržení kvality života a to zejména v oblasti fyzické aktivity, psychického zdraví, sociální oblasti, bolesti i celkového vnímání zdraví.

Abstract:

Aim: The aim of this research was to determine the quality of life of elderly people diagnosed with lower limb ischaemia. The sub-objectives were focused on the differences in the perception of quality of life in specific areas based on the patients' gender, age, the disease stage and disease duration. Methodology: The research took part in a health facility from February 2018 to August 2018. The research sample included 108 respondents hospitalized in the facility. To achieve the desired goals we used a method of quantitative care using questionnaires about the demographic data and data related to the problematics of the specific disease. To determine the quality of life we used the standardized questionnaire SF 36. The disease stage was determined by the worldwide used Fontaine classification. Results: By the results of the survey, we discovered that the ischaemic lower limb diseases have a big impact on the perception of the seniors' quality of life in all the specific areas. The investigation further shows us that seniors evaluate their wellbeing as poor or even very poor. Another finding was that the perceived quality of life in specific areas differs based on age of the patient, the disease duration and the stage of the disease. There were no significant differences in the results based on the patients' gender. The outcome of the research shows that the duration and the stage of the disease lead to a lower quality of life. These findings match the findings of other studies focused on this area. Conclusion: We can conclude that patients diagnosed with lower limb ischemia require a high level of support to maintain their quality of life, particularly in the area of physical activity, mental health, social wellbeing, managing pain and the overall perception of their health.
