Discrimination against women between the 20 to 30 years of their age when they are trying to find a job on the labor market in the Czech Republic between the years 2015 and 2016

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá diskriminací žen ve věku 20 až 30 let při vstupních přijímacích pohovorech na trh práce. Cílem této práce je zjistit, zda dochází k porušování práv žen prostřednictvím vyžadování informací nesouvisejících s výkonem práce. Případně jaký vliv má takové diskriminační jednání na získání zaměstnání. Hlavním úkolem je potvrdit nebo vyvrátit hypotézu, která zní: ženy vystavené diskriminačním otázkám v průběhu přijímacího pohovoru mají menší úspěšnost získání zaměstnání, než ženy nediskriminované. Potřebné údaje jsou zjišťovány kvantitativním sociologickým výzkumem, který zkoumá zkušenosti respondentek účastnících se přijímacích pohovorů v České republice v letech 2015 a 2016. Výsledky jsou porovnány s genderovými statistikami. Dalším dílčím cílem je přiblížení genderových strategií v Operačním programu zaměstnanost 2014-2020, nastínění nerovného odměňování a problém slaďování pracovního a soukromého života. Výsledkem je potvrzení hypotézy a zjištění poměru diskriminovaných žen, kterým byly nejčastěji pokládány diskriminační otázky týkající se jejich osobního stavu a plánovaného těhotenství.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with discrimination against women between the 20 to 30 years of their age when they are trying to find a job on the labor market. The aim of this paper is to determine whether there is some violation of women´s rights through requesting information unrelated to work performance. If so, what effect does such discriminatory conduct to obtain employment. The main task is to confirm or reject the hypothesis, which says: women who are subjected to discriminatory questions during the job interview are less successful in getting a job than women who are not discriminated. Necessary data are collected through quantitative sociological research, which examines the experiences of female respondents participating in job interviews in the Czech Republic between the years 2015 and 2016. The results are compared to other gender statistics. Other partial objectives are to approach gender strategy in the Operational Programme Employment 2014-2020, unequal pay and approach the problem of reconciling work and private life. The result is a confirmation of the hypothesis and also I find ratio discriminated women who were mostly asked discriminatory questions about their personal status and planned pregnancy.
