Creating a dataset and training neural network models for turtle identification

Abstract:

Využívání klasifikačních modelů ve velkém množství oborů zažívá obrovský růst. Jedním z největších překážek je získávání dat na tvorbu těchto modelů. Tato ba- kalářská práce se zaměřuje na vývoj a implementaci modelů neuronových sítí pro identifikaci želv na základě syntetických dat. Cílem práce je vytvořit dataset obsahu- jící obrázky želv a následně využít tento dataset pro tvorbu identifikačního modelu. V rámci práce bude proveden výběr vhodných technologií pro tvorbu datasetu a uče- ní modelu, například PyTorch a Stable Diffusion. Důraz bude kladen na optimalizaci a hodnocení výkonu modelů z hlediska přesnosti. Práce tak přispěje k lepšímu po- rozumění možností využití syntetických dat v oblasti tvorby datasetů. Kromě toho lze zvažovat potenciální využití výsledků pro monitorovací zařízení v teráriích, což by mohlo přinést inovace v péči o tyto živočichy.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis focuses on the development and implementation of models of neural networks for the identification of turtles based on synthetic data. The aim of the thesis is to create a dataset containing images of tortoises and subsequently utilize this dataset for the creation of an identification model. Within the thesis, a selection of suitable technologies for dataset creation and model training will be made, such as PyTorch and Stable Diffusion. Emphasis will be placed on optimiza- tion and evaluation of model performance in terms of speed and accuracy. The thesis will contribute to a better understanding of the possibilities of using synthetic data in the field of dataset creation. Additionally, potential use of the results for monitoring devices in terrariums can be considered, which could bring innovations in the care of these animals.
