Economic Impacts of Regulation within the Common Market – Institutional Analysis of Telecomunication Industry

Abstract:

Předmětem diplomové práce „Ekonomické dopady regulace v kontextu jednotného trhu – institucionální analýza odvětví telekomunikací“ je analýza konkurenčního prostředí telekomunikačního trhu v ČR, analýza aktuálních problémů v oblasti regulace telekomunikací a posouzení konkrétních dopadů jednotlivých regulatorních aktů. První kapitola se věnuje teoretickým východiskům antimonopolní politiky a regulaci telekomunikačního odvětví. Dále je provedena teoretická analýza a deskriptivní popis telekomunikačního odvětví, legislativní úpravy, institucí a státních zásahů do tohoto odvětví. V poslední části jsou popsány konkrétní dopady regulatorních aktů na ekonomiku daného odvětví a formulovány závěry.

Abstract:

The submitted thesis “Economic Impacts of Regulation within the Common Market – Institutional Analysis of Telecommunication Industry” aims at analyzing the competitive environment of the telecommunication industry in the Czech Republic, the current problems in the area of telecommunications regulation and at evaluating concrete impact of individual regulation acts. The first chapter focuses on theoretical starting point of antitrust policy and on telecommunications regulation. Further, theoretical analysis and descriptive account of telecommunications, legislative changes, institutions and state interferences in the field have been performed. The closing part comes up with the description of concrete impacts of regulation acts on the economics of the respective field and arrives at conclusions.
